He lends his expertise in risk management, program development and program evaluation to the New Heights organization. Active and athletic (he enjoys most outdoor activities), he helps coordinate the adventure program. "I feel as though outdoor activities create an experience that allows kids to easily bond with each other and with the staff. Different skills and competencies emerge, and kids feel proud about themselves and others." Brian is constantly promoting integrity and resiliency in the youth he works with. She believes that young adults are resilient and creative by nature, and will adapt positively to many of life’s difficulties with proper adult guidance. By involving youth in the creative process and allowing them to celebrate the successes as well as struggle with the failures involved in any endeavor, she believes we will grow confident, capable, active citizens. Joe Bassett
Joe is New Heights' first former participant to become a member of the full time staff. He carries that experience over to his “big brother” type relationship with the kids. He enjoys spending most of his time staying active either outdoors or in the gym facilitating programs such as “Sportscenter” and the 3 on 3 Basketball league. Joe sees each day working with young adults as an opportunity to help them become leaders, respect others and make the right decisions. Joe is a die hard Red Sox fan, who never misses a game. He listens to all types of music (his favorite band is O.A.R.), and enjoys dining out whenever possible… his favorite place to go, the Green Monkey in downtown

A program that uses all kinds of non-electronic games to help participants learn important life skills such as how to work together, take turns and listen well. Then when it was time for him to find a job New Heights saw his potential and hired him on the spot. With the help of other staff, he also creates the plots for our ever-popular live action Agent X Games. These games include sound effects, lighting effects, and a complex plot full of interesting characters and have been a sold out event since their start! Other programs he is involved in include New Media, our digital film making group; Mission Impossible, a Team building improv adventure; The Halloween Float; the New Heights Newspaper, and more! Games Day is also something that he prides himself in doing. This day long public gaming event is held twice a year.
